Gifts and Habits

One thing we have been talking about since the beginning of the year is spiritual gifts. God has created each of us with gifts that we are meant to use to create disciples. There are many different gifts that are outlined through Scripture as well as a call to use them. Our students recently took a spiritual gifts test and know what those gifts are and how to grow them. One of the ways you grow them is by forming spiritual habits! We all have them, so let's talk about them. Whether you've got good habits (like getting enough sleep or remembering to floss) or bad habits (like biting your nails or checking your phone too often), most of your habits are probably small, tiny, hardly noticeable habits. But over time, those tiny habits can really impact your life, for good or bad. So what about your spiritual habits? What are the small things you do every day that either draw you closer to God or keep you at a distance? In our current 4-week series on Wednesday nights, we’ll discover some principles from Scripture that have the power to help you develop tiny habits that can make a big impact — habits like spending time with God, investing in your relationships, sharing your faith story, and worshiping with your life.

One habit that youth ministries have formed over years is going to camp together with other youth groups. Our group is excited to join churches from San Antonio, Houston, Conroe, Kauffman, and Odessa and Lake Lavon in Princeton, TX for Camp 51! This gives our students the opportunity to see and grow with other students during this week and develop lifelong friendships that will help them form the habit of being involved in a Gospel centered community that is truly anchored in time together in prayer, worship, and discipleship.

If you are interested in helping students grow their spiritual gifts and habits, or you are interested in going to Camp 51 with us, please reach out to Bryan to figure out how you can get plugged in our youth ministry!
