Marcelino Banda
Hispanic Minister
Email Marcelino Marcelino was born and raised in McAllen, Texas. After graduating from Sunset School of Preaching in 1982, he started work with the Brownfield Church of Christ. During this time he graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 2002 with a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Bible and Ministry.
In 2002, he and his family moved to be with us here at Broadway as our Hispanic Minister. Marcelino is filled with a passion for knowing and loving Jesus Christ.
He married his beautiful wife, Orfila, in June of 1976. His favorite things are his three daughters, Yvette, Yvonne, and Christina, and his two grandchildren, Tyler and Ellianna.
Above all, Marcelino seeks to be a disciple of Christ and to help others be the same.

Jim Beck
Carpenter's Church Minister

Jim has served as minister for Carpenter's Church since 1999. Before starting Carpenter's Church, he served as the involvement minister at Broadway. He works along side Brent McCay, reaching the people of the inner city. He is also the Director of World Missions Training at Lubbock Christian University. Jim received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees from LCU.
Before coming to Broadway, Jim, his wife Phyllis, and their three children, Caleb, Nathan, and Lindsey, served as missionaries in Kenya, Africa for ten years. Jim is also the proud father-in-law of Jenny (wife of Caleb) and grandfather of Aiden James Beck.
Jim has a real passion for missions, both domestic and foreign.

Wes Crawford
Preaching Minister
Wes Crawford has been the preaching minister at Broadway since November, 2004. Prior to his time at Broadway, he worked as the singles minister at Woodmont Hills Church of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee and the preaching minister at Orient Street Church of Christ in Stamford, Texas. In addition to his role at Broadway, Wes also teaches church history and preaching at Lubbock Christian University, where he serves as the chairman of the Department of Biblical Studies. Wes is currently working on his PhD in Church History and Homiletics from Vanderbilt University. He also holds a Masters of Divinity from Abilene Christian University and a BA in Bible and Preaching from Lubbock Christian University.
Wes has a passion for preaching and teaching, and his prayer is that Broadway will continue to become a body filled with externally focused disciples of Jesus Christ. In addition to preaching and teaching, Wes enjoys fishing, playing baksetball, and spending time with his wife, Kim, and their four children: Anna, Elizabeth, Luke, and Benjamin.

| Josh Haynes
Youth Minister
Josh
graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 2004 with a degree in
Youth Ministry. He came to Broadway in November of 2006. Josh grew up
as a missionary's kid, living for several years in Ecuador.
He is married to Heather, and is an avid New York Yankees fan. He coaches basketball part time at Lubbock Christian School.
Josh
works very hard with the youth at Broadway, encouraging them, teaching
them, and leading them to a closer relationship with Christ.

Brent McCay
Carpenter's Church Minister
Brent McCay joined Broadway’s staff in March of 1999 as one of the ministers for Broadway’s inner-city work known as Carpenter's Church. Brent has a Bachelor’s of Youth and Family Ministry from Lubbock Christian University.
Brent’s wife Karen and their children
Micah, Noah, and Desmond are also very involved in Brent’s
ministry. Brent says of his ministry, "I've had no greater joy in my
life than learning through the people of Carpenter's Church how to
truly love unconditionally." Outside interests of Brent’s include golf,
cycling, and hiking.

Buddy Mills
Buddy and his wife Terry came to Broadway in December of 2007. After 28 years in Youth Ministry, Buddy accepted what he calls “the difficult but exciting decision” to move to the position of
Broadway’s Church Life Minister. Buddy’s education includes a degree
from Harding and further studies at ACU. The couple has four children
and one grandchild.
"I am blessed, indeed. My wife loves me. My kids love Jesus. People keep
letting me do ministry. I'm excited about what God has in store for
Broadway. Opportunities abound within only a few feet of our front (and
back) doors. I can't wait to see where he takes us!"

David Pounds
University Minister
Since
the spring of 2000, David has been growing and serving Christ in Action
student ministries; first as a student, then as an intern, and since
January 2007 as the university minister. A developing passion to love
and serve God has in turn given him a desire to connect with and lead
college students. David's undergraduate work was completed at Lubbock
Christian University in agriculture business, and he is currently in
the process of completing graduate studies in ministry.
His
primary ministry is to love, listen to, and learn from the students of
TTU, LCU, and SPC and to help those students discover the life God has
offered and the disciples they are becoming. Among his favorite
enjoyments in life are his wife Saundra, the stillness and smell of the
morning, and a fine cup of coffee!

Bill Starcher
Executive Minister
Bill,
his wife Debbie, and his two children came to Broadway in 1994 as the
Education Minister. During his tenure at Broadway, Bill's position has
changed more than once. Currently, he is the Executive Minister and he
continues to write the curriculum for Broadway's adult Bible classes.
Bill holds a Master of Science degree in Biblical and Related Studies
from Abilene Christian Univesity and a Master of Education in
counseling from the University of North Texas.
Bill
has a passion for people to be able to know scripture in a way that
transforms lives, and for Broadway to be a community that brings glory
to God through their love for one another and their service to the
world. Bill loves sports and history, and enjoys any chance he and his
wife can vacation in the mountains.

Rodney Thomas
Operations Minister
Email Rodney
Rodney
went to Roosevelt High School and graduated in 1977. He worked in the
Slaton area as a farm and ranch hand, and then as a fertilizer plant
operator before graduating from Lubbock Christian University in
December of 1988 with a degree in Biblical Languages.
In
August of 1989 he went to Washington, England as a missionary to plant
a new church. During his time he completed an MATR and PhD. in New
Testament from the University of Durham. Rodney currently serves at Broadway looking after the
building, as a Chaplain’s assistant at the Lubbock County Jail, and
serving wherever he is needed.
